2019 was the first Arab British Economic Summit held at The Queen Elizabeth II Centre, City of Westminster, London. The event is organised by the ABCC and attracts high level speakers and delegates from across the Arab World. Westcoast Films were chosen as their film & Photography suppliers for this prestigious event.
When working with different cultures, we know how important it is to be mindful of different customs. The ABES sees delegates attend from across the Arab world and ensuring we understood what customs were important, from greetings to filming and photographing people, was essential in our pre-production planning with the ABCC team.
During the event a translation booth was setup in the room so depending on whether a speaker spoke in English or Arabic the audience could use headsets to have the talk delivered to them in their native language live. We also provided all talks in post-production both in English and Arabic.
We had a team of 7 on the ground. 3 camera operators, 1 photographer, 1 video editor, 1 vision operator and 1 producer. We had 3 cameras in the main conference room whilst our vision operator mixed the talks, relaying to the screens in the conference room and for post event delivery to the ABCC YouTube channel. Our onsite editor was cutting event footage onsite to produce a highlights video to play out at the end of day 2.
